TCOYD, as they are Doctors living with T1D. Their video's are informative and funny, I like T1D to 100, and Joanne Milo, as she too lives with T1D and understands what aging with T1D is like, and Tom from Type One Talks, as his video's are entertaining and informative.

I am going to be general rather than specific (to protect the innocent 😏 ). I enjoy the researchers and the individuals living and making a good life of T1D. I loathe following what insurance companies, private equity, investment bankers, credit default swappers, derivative managers, mergers & acquisition operatives are doing (legally, and encouraged by) to the American health care system.

Have you ever worked with a professional (outside your T1D healthcare team) to review your diabetes data, adjust settings, and insulin ratios?
Early on in my diagnosis, I went to a diabetes camp. I had just started insulin and nothing was dialed in yet. It was really nice to have so much time with so many knowledgeable people. I think it would have taken quite a while to put things together with just me and my team.

How many times a week do you exercise?
Define exercise: I walk, do yoga, mow a corner lot at home, garden, vacuum, take care of a toddler from 9:30 am until 4:30pm twice per week, do Core exercises for women over 50 (I’m 68). Do I go to the gym and perform a regimen? No. But I think I get plenty of exercise.

My dog and I hike 4 miles a day (2 early am and then 2 in the pm). Then I also do 30 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes of TaiChi 6 days a week.

I am not sure. Do you consider a pump trainer outside your healthcare team? She wasn’t my usual go to and haven’t spoken to her since I got set up and dialed in. Despite that, most pump setting changes I do myself.

If you consider referring to Gary Scheiner and John Walsh's books - then no. But those two gave me the confidence to adjust settings and since I am a math/data nerd to trust my ability to interpret data.

My late sister was diagnosed with diabetes, but I never knew whether she had T1 or T2. She was diagnosed in her late 40s or early 50s.

We suspect, through genetic testing that my dad was the first to develop monogenic T1D, I was next and then two out of three younger of my brothers, followed by my eldest of three sons, and then the eldest of his two daughters.

I had an Aunt who developed LADA/Type 1 Dm at around the age of 40 years old. Contacted me to learn more and went on the use an insulin pump, but had difficulty learning how to eat healthy. Died in her late 70’s.

My brother was put on T2 meds for a few years before he started on Lantus and a year later he started on before meal Humalog. He started wearing Dexcom last year. So he is now insulin dependent. Is he now T1??

Only T1 if he has the antibodies. T2’s on insulin are just T2’s on insulin.
