  I am sometimes tired of the need to count carbs or not being able to eat as friends do, but I don't feel burnt out in comparison to my other conditions (especially preexisting depression and epilepsy). I would love to be perfectly healthy, but diabetes sometimes helps me focus on needed goals and gets my thoughts off worse ones. I also am grateful for the research both having been and being done.

  I chose "I use the Sleep activity setting during the hours that I’m sleeping", but my sleep hours are not definitely 2300-0800 and I don't change the settings as I would for activity.

  I would consume some fatty carbs with protein. If this occurs, I usually have walnuts with a small amount of ice cream.

  Other. As many people here have stated, the most reliable CGM was my most important decision factor. I miss many aspects of Medtronic's pumps, but until they improve their CGM or have Dexcom work / be compatible with them, I will stick with Tandem unless something better comes along.

  This was a confusing question to define. You have your lipid panel along with, hemoglobin, and thyroid. Does this count as one or three? Should they be related to diabetes?

  The shorter the cannula is usually the best for me as I have very little body fat.

  It is a very rare occurrence, less than yearly, but it has happened with quick movement of clothes when I am tired. Pulling pumps out is more common.

  What's interesting is that I've begun taking Adderall for ADHD, and my doctor and I are still trying to find the right dosage. Lately I've found that 20mg XR is just too much for me, and describing how uncomfortable and out of it I felt, my ex-cocaine user boyfriend said that's exactly what coming down from speeding feels like. But what's interesting is that it also feels exactly like a low blood sugar. I kept checking my CGM but my blood sugars were all fine, but I still felt shaky and spacey. So apparently a low blood sugar has the same feeling as coming down off of speed/drugs.

  I've never had a very severe low -- only been T1D for 7 months. But if I am dropping very fast, I usually get this weird tunnel vision where I feel like everything is converging and I feel unsteady. Then the shaking, clammy feeling starts. Usually takes 25-30 mins to feel normal again, even when my blood sugar returns to normal.

  I classify a severe low as one where I become completely stupid - it affects my cognition first and then my peripherals - like shaking, and fast heart beat etc...

  I get confused. My thoughts are racing. Making no sense. Unbalanced and uncontrollable movements. Sweaty and cold.
