How often do you eat or drink sweets specifically to treat or prevent low glucose?
This is part of living with a pancreas that is not capable of telling the liver the body needs glucose. If you are keeping BG in tight range smaller adjustments are both proactive and reactive done to manage BG. To look at it as a bad thing is a bit irrational and unrealistic.

I much prefer glucose tablets so I know exactly what I'm getting and how soon.

Multiple times daily. My life is so active with yard work, running, gym, band, etc. etc.. I am constantly in need of glucose. My go to's are juice (any fruit flavor) and Trader Joe's Mostly Mesquite Honey. When I have time, I also eat fruit, i.e. oranges, apples, grapes, dates, figs, raisins, etc.

I will always do my own research after seeing something interesting or new. So, I don't trust anything right off, but I will listen and learn.

The good, the bad, and the ugly appear on line. Even the source needs to be questioned and questioned continually about statistical significance, sample size, collaborating cross-referenced studies, and current vs. distant relevancy. ☀️🛰️⚡

Yes it does and there are several very good sources which I trust. Maybe a question about those would be good.

I still participate in research for many different conditions, but not currently clinical trials.
I used to do this often, mainly for epilepsy, but I am now no longer a good candidate with too many conditions.

I’ve tried but my A1C is too low. It seems they only want people with poor control.

These feels like a very “shaming” response. Sometimes a myriad of factors affect a1c other than poor control: stress, hormones, growth spurts, other medical issues, dosing adjustments, or medication changes. I would love to see simple support for all who face T1D daily regardless of their “control”.

I answered No, but I should have answered Yes, but not T1D related. No studies related to T1D ever want me because my A1c is too low, or I’m not overweight, or I take a psych med, or I’m too old, etc. I participated in the original Moderna COVID vaccine study in 2020.

No, but my endo knows that I would be interested in a dual hormone pump trial (glucagon and insulin) if that trial were in my area. She said she would let me know if one is set to go near where I live.

I have participated and finished one and am at the end of another right now.
I wanted to participate in a third trial, but my A1c was too low.

The two that I participate(d) in have been fantastic experiences. I’ve learned a lot and my pump set up has gotten lots and lots of great scrutiny! The doctors and nurses I have encountered have been fantastically kind and generous with their time and information.

If more come up in the future that I can qualify for, I will definitely give it a go!
