Which T1D influencers do you enjoy following?
I am going to be general rather than specific (to protect the innocent 😏 ). I enjoy the researchers and the individuals living and making a good life of T1D. I loathe following what insurance companies, private equity, investment bankers, credit default swappers, derivative managers, mergers & acquisition operatives are doing (legally, and encouraged by) to the American health care system.

Have you ever worked with a professional (outside your T1D healthcare team) to review your diabetes data, adjust settings, and insulin ratios?
Early on in my diagnosis, I went to a diabetes camp. I had just started insulin and nothing was dialed in yet. It was really nice to have so much time with so many knowledgeable people. I think it would have taken quite a while to put things together with just me and my team.

How many times a week do you exercise?
Define exercise: I walk, do yoga, mow a corner lot at home, garden, vacuum, take care of a toddler from 9:30 am until 4:30pm twice per week, do Core exercises for women over 50 (I’m 68). Do I go to the gym and perform a regimen? No. But I think I get plenty of exercise.

My dog and I hike 4 miles a day (2 early am and then 2 in the pm). Then I also do 30 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes of TaiChi 6 days a week.

I am not sure. Do you consider a pump trainer outside your healthcare team? She wasn’t my usual go to and haven’t spoken to her since I got set up and dialed in. Despite that, most pump setting changes I do myself.

If you consider referring to Gary Scheiner and John Walsh's books - then no. But those two gave me the confidence to adjust settings and since I am a math/data nerd to trust my ability to interpret data.

I do not exercise. At 86, my years of regular exercise have stood me in good stead.

lift weights 3x a week and run several times per week. been having foot problems lately so the running has been spotty but it's getting better. The consistency of lifting weights have a big effect on the amount of background insulin needed (MDI).

How many times a week do you exercise?
I do cardio (elliptical and rower) and Pilates (mat and reformer) nearly every day. Consistency makes my BG more predictable and easier to manage. I’ve just emerged from a month of inactivity after cataract surgery, which made me realize how much I need exercise for stress relief, too.

Have you been tested for and diagnosed with celiac disease?
Tested for yes. Diagnosed with no. Gotta watch those complex questions because the answer becomes invalid.

While TIR is most commonly addressed as 70-180, there is significant discussion of changing it to 70-140 or 150. Some call this TITR (Tight Range). In most programs/CGM apps, people can change TIR to their personal goal. Recommend you change the question to be more specific.

Would not know, lost my insurance last week. Cannot pretend to afford ANY CGM, and no “programs” exist for the Freestyle units to get any discounts. Cannot remotely afford even the cash prices… so no CGM’s for me. Lethal ugly… diabetic “dark ages” (i.e. Clini-Stix time frame) protocols. Lets see how good it turns out shall we….

I was on a bike and barge trip in Europe last week, ricing bikes 40 – 50 miles per day through rural areas and I was very concerned about lows during those rides, so I did not attempt to closely control my my glucose!
