I have an Apple watch and used their fitness app to record exercise, standing every hour, calories burned. It was fun and helpful for awhile, but I didn’t see any weight loss or other outcomes. I don’t wear it any more.
Being a senior with LADA for 22 years, I have a Jitterbug Flip phone with a red alert button and no apps or data. So I depend on the Abbott Freestyle Libre.
Not sure if Happy Bob counts! I’ve tried a couple of more data-hungry apps (tidepool, Dexcom/clarity, diasend) that have the same BG data _and_ insulin, carb and exercise data. I would dearly like there Tobe a monitoring app that took Dexcom, tandem, and Google health data and had Karen as a coach
I have coverage with BC/BS of Texas and we get a Livongo meter and unlimited strips and lancets completely for free. There is also the option of free coaching calls and monitoring that I don’t participate in. I don’t get good enough accuracy from the Libre so I went back to finger sticks so this worked out well.
I said “other” because I never got a prompt to participate in an y of these & haven’t heard of them until mow.
I got a letter from Livongo (on BCBS letterhead) and said it was covered 100%, so free everything for me. Sometimes I use finger sticks for backup on my CGM, so I got one. I hated it. It was kind of bulky for when I had to add it to my purse. I didn’t like that I couldn’t turn off the uploading of my data. It didn’t give me any advice that I didn’t already know. Then I started seeing that they were charging BCBS $67 a month. I only used it one or two days per month, so that seemed excessive to me. I cancelled it.
I’ve never used one and right now it’s unlikely I would as what I use now works. What I’ve found is that for every new app I use there’s a learning period. I have to decide if it’s worth the time. Given how much time I have on any one day (currently 24hrs) and it’s fixed I’m careful how I use it. So the benefit would have to outweigh the cost both time and money.
I guess if Fitbit counts, then yes.
I use sugarmate for now but have used others.
