      Other. I rarely initiate a correction bolus, I let my pump algorithm take care of that. The level at which I initiate a correction depends on what I judge to be the cause.

      I marked lower than 140 mg/dl. Although I have the Dexcom Control IQ program, I try to keep my blood glucose close to 100 mg/dl. It all varies and depends upon the situations. But, if Control IQ doesn't catch it quick enough, I initiate a bolus on my own.

      Maureen, I still have a "needle & powder" kit in the fridge from a previous century. :)

      Being on Medicare cost is prohibitive. I do have an out-of-date glucagon kit in case of emergency (I've never needed it!).

      The insurance company logic to not cover glucagon is about power and not cost. Glucagon is far less expensive than a visit to the ER, but they don’t cover it, why? Oh, it’s an as needed drug and has no need limit, so don’t cover it.

      It's not covered by Medicare or my secondary insurance. In 69 years of living with T1 there have only been two instances when it would have been helpful. The first time, the person I was with took me to the hospital. The second time, neighbors called for medical assistance. In the past I purchased glucagon kits, only to throw them out after they expired. I lack the financial resources to pay-out-of-pocket now.

      I met a therapy dog when I went low on a walk. The dog was quite impressive and the owner was really sweet. She stayed with me until the dog said it was okay. I wasn’t terribly low at the time and I had already treated but it did take a while for my bg to rise because I had IOB. I had stopped to talk with her because her dog was a breed that I love. The dog circled her owner and barked and the owner asked if I had Diabetes.

      Between my CGM, my husband, and my cat, I have plenty of alert systems. If I get a dog, it will be as a pet, not for service

      While I think having a dog is great, the other requirements necessary of having an appropriate residence (yard, size, etc.) and needing to take them regularly out for walks and relief breaks doesn’t fit my lifestyle.

      In 2024, did you add, remove, or change T1D devices? Select all that apply!
      I changed to the Dexcom G7 from the Dexcom G6. I got a new Tandem T:slim X2 last year (2023) to replace my old one that was out of warranty.

      I switched from Dexcom G6 to G7 this year. I've had the same Tandem T:slim X2 pump model for many years now, although it's been replaced a couple of times for charging problems.

      Both my daughter and I have T1D. My father Has diabetes (advanced insulin dependent Type 2) but his Endo doesn’t see any reason to test for antibodies. I suspect maybe he has LADA.
