TCOYD, as they are Doctors living with T1D. Their video's are informative and funny, I like T1D to 100, and Joanne Milo, as she too lives with T1D and understands what aging with T1D is like, and Tom from Type One Talks, as his video's are entertaining and informative.

I am going to be general rather than specific (to protect the innocent ๐Ÿ˜ ). I enjoy the researchers and the individuals living and making a good life of T1D. I loathe following what insurance companies, private equity, investment bankers, credit default swappers, derivative managers, mergers & acquisition operatives are doing (legally, and encouraged by) to the American health care system.

Have you ever worked with a professional (outside your T1D healthcare team) to review your diabetes data, adjust settings, and insulin ratios?
Early on in my diagnosis, I went to a diabetes camp. I had just started insulin and nothing was dialed in yet. It was really nice to have so much time with so many knowledgeable people. I think it would have taken quite a while to put things together with just me and my team.

How many times a week do you exercise?
Define exercise: I walk, do yoga, mow a corner lot at home, garden, vacuum, take care of a toddler from 9:30 am until 4:30pm twice per week, do Core exercises for women over 50 (Iโ€™m 68). Do I go to the gym and perform a regimen? No. But I think I get plenty of exercise.

My dog and I hike 4 miles a day (2 early am and then 2 in the pm). Then I also do 30 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes of TaiChi 6 days a week.

I am not sure. Do you consider a pump trainer outside your healthcare team? She wasnโ€™t my usual go to and havenโ€™t spoken to her since I got set up and dialed in. Despite that, most pump setting changes I do myself.

If you consider referring to Gary Scheiner and John Walsh's books - then no. But those two gave me the confidence to adjust settings and since I am a math/data nerd to trust my ability to interpret data.

Pickleball two mornings a week, 2 strength training classes and 1 yoga class per week at the gym. Plus, dog walks on demand!

How many times a week do you exercise?
lift weights 3x a week and run several times per week. been having foot problems lately so the running has been spotty but it's getting better. The consistency of lifting weights have a big effect on the amount of background insulin needed (MDI).

I only use MDI when off the pump. When that happens, I inject anywhere from 3 to 6 times a day depending on carb intake and BG patterns.

Iโ€™ve been on insulin pump therapy for 35 years, but before that I took upwards of 9 injections a day. Approx 25 units per day. 15 long lasting in am/pm. Then depending on food and snacks 10-15 units fast acting and corrections also.

Here’s another way to think about these responses. Of the 22% who are MDI, half take 5 or 6 injections daily.

Just switched back to pump. Was on MDI for three years. Dosed twice for basal insulin. Worked better for me. Then for meals and corrections. Got to be a pain. Have a tandem pump and so far so good. Not crazy about tubing but Omnipod didnโ€™t work for me.

I’ve been on an insulin pump since 1998. Prior to that I took 3 to 4 injections per day.

After several years on the pump, last year on shots did my basal in the AM, my bolus 6-7 times a day (1 real meal, maybe a snack): 1-2 units per. My a1C was 5.3 and 5.2. Back to pumping a much easier a1C 5.4-5.7.
