  Low carb/keto. Last time my A1c dropped from 6.3 to 5.8 when I did this. Omit sugar desserts, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and corn. Anything else that aren’t specifically low carb but aren’t high carb in moderation. Also, 2 meals or OMAD one meal a day helps limit carbs and calories.

  Have you ever experienced a frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)?
  Yes, my right shoulder when I was 58, about 11 1/2 years ago. Physical therapy just made it hurt more, so I just had a cortisone shot and let it rest. After about 13 months, I had 90% usage back. It took a year and a half to get back to normal. I'm really amazed at how high the percentage of people who have had this condition.

  Yes, both shoulders (separately). It was the most miserable part experience. All medical treatments and therapies were worthless. I just had to wait in misery until the shoulder decided to unfreeze.

  Soooo, that's a trick question for me. I use the Total Carb count on packages. I don't know if that includes fiber or not.

  I change them when I start having trouble with daily low or high sugars at a certain time of day. I also might change my basal rates, if that is the more appropriate fix. I have basically been in charge of my doses the whole time, even when I was on injections.

  My icr changes so often between days and intra-day that it's not very useful to me. Instead, I take a standard safe dose every meal and then take an additional dose (or two) later if my BG goes above 7mmol

  Since they are my close friends I'd say they all live with to some degree with me in their life. I'm the only one that has it, but they are a second set of eyes

  My sister was diagnosed at 10 and passed in 1992 at 40. Our good friend passed in 2016 at the age of 65 after living 55 years with T1D. Their history keeps me striving to stay in range with the tools that were not available for them.

  I have 1 friend who I met when she was my diabetes educator. She has since retired. But we continue to go to lunch from time to time. I am a 69 year old, 57 year T1D. She is a 70 year old, 61 year T1D!!!

  Many of my close friends I met through Connected in Motion (a group for adults with Type 1 to get out and get active). They have different types of events from super active to less active, but it’s all about experiential learning.

  I generally consume 15-30g of carbohydrate 3 times per day. Mostly lower glycemic whole foods and a moderate amount of protein. Years ago when I was studying biochemistry I read a research paper suggesting that humans can consume about 30g of carbohydrate efficiently. After that absorption becomes more unpredictable. So since reading this 20-30 years ago I've prebolused by about 30 minutes and try to keep my carbohydrate under 30g. Seems to work.

For some reason my insurance makes me get the omnipog5 through an in person pharmacy. They don’t keep these in their mail order stock. First time this has happened.

This just changed for me. I have Medicare and use a pump. I am supposed to get insulin under Medicare Part B, but could not find a local supplier last year, so I got an excemption to use Part D and CVS CareMark Mail Order Pharmacy. I changed Part D plans this year and now use OPTUM RX, they refused to fill my insulin prescription. After much negotiating and paperwork, I was able to get my local Walgreens to fill it under Part B. Six vials of Novolog for $55. That is the least that I have paid of insulin in more than 10 years.

I have to go through a pharmacy provider through my insurance pharmacy plan to be covered under my Diabetic Wellness program. I cannot go through medical or durable medical supplies or it is not covered under this program.
