  I put into my pump my BG reading instead of the carbs I was going to eat. Didn’t take glucagon. Just ate enough to compensate.

  After having blood drawn at a lab, how do you review the results? Please select all that apply.
  The lab's [hospital's] online portal posts 80% of results withing 24 hours or less. The other 20% are posted within 48 hours. Great speed and accuracy by those guys. Now if they could just get away from the antediluvian practice of using primitive usernames and passwords. Doh! 🐵🙈🙉

  Has your insulin ever accidentally frozen in a refrigerator? If so, please share more in the comments
  I was in Ukraine for a 3 month tour with my band in East Africa and Middle East. I accidentally put it in top shelf and it was one of those small refrigerator with open freezer on top. It cut the strength almost in half and as I was no where near to a major city I had to wait a month to get new insulin when I flew to Lebanon. My body actually adjusted to constant highs but when I got good insulin I actually went through withdrawals and would shake and. Sweat when it was in normal range. It took a week to get my body adjusted to normal blood sugars.

  No because every hotel I stay in has a refrigerator in their rooms.

  I like to keep it cold and not all hotels I’ve stayed in supply them so I always ask. However, we are taking a train across the US and Canada soon and they do not provide refrigerators nor will they allow you to keep it in theirs. So I got a small rechargeable refrigerator that I saw online, but am now deciding to let the insulin get warm. Can only have a small suitcase and a personal item and I don’t want to check my bags. Fingers crossed.

  I receive a notification from the lab and from my healthcare providers portals when my results are available to view. I do a preliminary view and then at my next meeting or if there are issues my doctor will either respond via the portal or call to discuss .

  Do you use any of the following insulin pumps right now?
  Been on Tandem tslim x2 with Control IQ for four days now. This is my second t:slim, but old one had Basal IQ. Can anyone tell me a good place to get help with Control IQ online or maybe some good Youtubes to watch. I am going low a lot so need some help. Thanks

  I use Tandem t:slim x2 manually. IE: I do not use Control IQ or Basal IQ. I find my control is better doing it on my own.

  Every new generation of eyes sees a new version of our diabetic galaxy. So much of the diabetic condition feels like a blatant violation of the eighth amendment anyway. 🤕👳‍♀️

  When I was ten years old my whole family had the flu. This was in 1972. After everyone else were recovering, I was getting worse. I was more tired and didn't wake up to use the toilet during the night. I didn't even wake up after wetting the bed and the amount of urine was greatly increased as well as the frequency. My thirst could not be quenched. I was falling asleep in school, during activities, while eating, etc. I lost my appetite and lost a lot of weight. I was vomiting the little bit I did eat. My mind became muddled and I was very emotional. I cried alone. I knew I was dying and I told my mom that I felt like I was going to go to sleep and not wake up. Mom took me to three pediatricians all three thought I was suffering from severe depression! My grandfather called his doctor who saw me right away. He did a lot of tests. He had us wait in his office for the test results. After what seemed like a whole day, he came in and said, "She's right...right now she's dying BUT there's a treatment!" I wasn't happy about my having to give myself shots every day for the rest of my life, but I was happy I could have the rest of my life! This Dr was great! He helped me learn how to live a healthy lifestyle with T1D. He was very positive about life with T1D. I'm 62 years old now and I've had more terrible doctors than great ones. The one I have now is wonderful!

  Happy Earth Day! Do you recycle any of the packaging from diabetes-related supplies?
  Yes, most of it - the paper and recyclable plastic product packaging. However, It is really annoying for the plastic pod inserters from the Dexcom G6 are so cumbersome to recycle. it would have been a good idea for Dexcom to design and produce a reloadable inserter to save on all the plastic that goes to God knows where as waste. As I have stated before in other comments ... what would happen if we all sent the tens of thousands, perhaps millions, of used inserter devices back to Dexcom en masse so they can dispose of them or recycle them into a better user and environmentally friendly device? I have several boxes of spent inserter devices taking up space and collecting dust in my garage.

  I would love to be able to recycle all of my pump packaging supplies, but can only recycle the paper. Not being able to recycle is one major bummer of pump therapy. I think that the companies should find ways to make the packaging compostable or recyclable as each site change produces a lot of waste!

  Yes, we recycle every little bit that is recyclable, but that is a habit, in our household, for all recyclables.
