  My answer needs explaining. I am 84, with 78 years of T1D and a lot of neuropathy. Vacuuming a few rooms in my house is very exerting. That is exercise. Walking 20 minutes outdoors is exercise. Bathing and dressing is exercise. I cannot do all of these things in the same day. If these examples can be considered as exercise, I exercise every day,.

  It absolutely counts. I have a German Shepherd/Malinois mix who takes me for two loooong walks every day. Then we take a nap.

  Low carb/keto. Last time my A1c dropped from 6.3 to 5.8 when I did this. Omit sugar desserts, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and corn. Anything else that aren’t specifically low carb but aren’t high carb in moderation. Also, 2 meals or OMAD one meal a day helps limit carbs and calories.

  Have you ever experienced a frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)?
  Yes, my right shoulder when I was 58, about 11 1/2 years ago. Physical therapy just made it hurt more, so I just had a cortisone shot and let it rest. After about 13 months, I had 90% usage back. It took a year and a half to get back to normal. I'm really amazed at how high the percentage of people who have had this condition.

  Yes, both shoulders (separately). It was the most miserable part experience. All medical treatments and therapies were worthless. I just had to wait in misery until the shoulder decided to unfreeze.

  Soooo, that's a trick question for me. I use the Total Carb count on packages. I don't know if that includes fiber or not.

  I change them when I start having trouble with daily low or high sugars at a certain time of day. I also might change my basal rates, if that is the more appropriate fix. I have basically been in charge of my doses the whole time, even when I was on injections.

  My icr changes so often between days and intra-day that it's not very useful to me. Instead, I take a standard safe dose every meal and then take an additional dose (or two) later if my BG goes above 7mmol

  Since they are my close friends I'd say they all live with to some degree with me in their life. I'm the only one that has it, but they are a second set of eyes

  My sister was diagnosed at 10 and passed in 1992 at 40. Our good friend passed in 2016 at the age of 65 after living 55 years with T1D. Their history keeps me striving to stay in range with the tools that were not available for them.

  I have 1 friend who I met when she was my diabetes educator. She has since retired. But we continue to go to lunch from time to time. I am a 69 year old, 57 year T1D. She is a 70 year old, 61 year T1D!!!

  Many of my close friends I met through Connected in Motion (a group for adults with Type 1 to get out and get active). They have different types of events from super active to less active, but it’s all about experiential learning.

CLINICAL TRIAL DETAILS

Zucara Therapeutics, Inc., is conducting a clinical trial to evaluate an investigational medication which may lower the risk of experiencing low glucose levels during the night.

This clinical trial will help determine how well ZT-01, an investigational drug, works in reducing nighttime hypoglycemia and the safety and tolerability of three dose levels of ZT-01 in adults with T1D.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Zucara Therapeutics is looking for individuals who:

Are between the ages of 18 to 75

Have lived with T1D for at least five years

Have recently experienced low glucose levels during the night.

* The guidelines listed above are the primary eligibility criteria for this study. Only the clinical trial research staff can determine if you meet all eligibility criteria for this study.

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU ENROLL IN THE CLINICAL TRIAL

The study requires six in-person visits and two phone calls over this time period – approximately 16 weeks.
