  I’ve always used what I have started until it is gone! Always have, always will!

  Have you ever used expired glucose strips in your meter?
  For sure! With my DexCom I don’t need to finger stick much and I have to pay for the strips as Medicare won’t cover them anymore! And expiration dates are rather arbitrary anyhow.

  On a scale of 1-5, how satisfied are you with your current insulin delivery method (pump, pens, syringes, inhaler, etc.)? 5 = the most satisfied, 1 = the least satisfied
  Have been T1D 51+ years now. Quit the Medtronic after using it for years. Using Tandem t:slim now which is a Great improvement but I have to bolus way too many times even with ControlIQ. Am looking into the iLet as I won’t have to do so many calculations! Always looking forward to More improvements though!

  Do you currently have a kit containing the diabetes supplies you would need in case of a natural disaster or emergency?
  I have stuff that I carry with me, but the needed supplies for a disaster would have to be gone thru continuously so none of the supplies expire! So, my supplies are all kept in one place, but not in a carryable container. But of course, insulin can’t be kept like that…..

  If blood sugar is low you do not even start the car! Technology makes that a simple choice!

  Does proximity to your T1D health care provider impact where you choose to live?
  I have lived in rural areas most of the 51 years I have been T1D. I have never had optimal diabetes care due to there being no such thing as an endocrinologist or none close enough or none taking new patients. So I just do the best I can with my Primary Care Physician and my own research.

  Increases in stress are due to the Alerts! And not being able to choose the alerts I want! I certainly do not need to be alerted that my blood sugar registered high 2 hours ago! What good is that???? Nor do I need to know that a bolus delivery was not completed! I didn’t even attempt to bolus!!!

  Do you wear medical alert jewelry or something on your body to signify you have type 1 diabetes in case of an emergency?
  The only time my MedicAlert bracelet is removed is for MRI’s or X-rays!
