  I have hypo unawareness, so I don't feel it when I get low, even down into the 40s. And I don't feel highs either. So I don't feel it when I've recovered. The only way I know is by my cgm.

  If my time in range is good, I know my A1C will be good as well. The fallacy in relying solely on your A1C is that you can be swinging high and low wildly and still have a decent A1C.

  You remove the transmitter from the sensor (it's tricky, Google it), put it out of range of your phone/receiver and pump for 20 minutes (you can put it in the microwave (don't turn it on). Then start sensor. Some say without a code, but I always use the original code for the sensor.

  Medicare is very strict about the timing of supplies. By re-starting cgm sensors you can get ahead in case of supply issues.

  When I went on Medicare my doctor (internal medicine, not an endo) filled out the paperwork for the same Medtronic pump I'd been on for 12 years. After researching other pumps I had him rewrite the order for a T:slim X2.

  I'm 70 and have had T1D for 56 years. I do not suffer from burnout at all. Yes I get annoyed at the surprise highs and lows and associated alarms but after this long it's just a part of life. I deal with it and move on.
