  ME/cfs, endometriosis, and adenomyosis were the biggest culprits to my deciding not to have children at all—not even through adoption or fostering. T1D concerns added to the other concerns. I just didn’t (and don’t) have the stamina to raise children. Plus, I wasn’t sure I could conceive. Being child free is best for me.

  If you use an insulin pump, when changing your pump site, do your blood glucose (BG) levels rise afterwards? If so, please share in the comments if you take any steps to adjust for the rise when changing your site.
  With the release of DIY Loop 3.0, I can customize how much insulin is injected as part of the Omnipod pod change.

  I have never had a T1D healthcare provider ask me to fill out a mental health questionnaire, and that's sad.

  Participated in a Diabetes Education online group through the Clemson University Coop Health Extension. It was great and it meant that we had weekly meetings over a few months, so more meetings than in a normal year.

  Scored my lowest A1C in December- 6.8, usually around 7.2 T1D since 1970 with no complications.

  Going through puberty is a tough time. Looking back, is there anything you wish you’d known about T1D in puberty that you would like to share with young people today who are going through this transition? Or, if you’re a caregiver, what is a question you’d like to ask the community on how to handle the challenges that come with managing T1D for young people during puberty?
  My endocrinologist (the best), told me after 1-2 years of his training, that I would do well because "You have accepted diabetes ." I did not fight the diagnoses. Now in my 53rd year.

  psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis - diagnosed with gestational diabetes while pregnant, after also getting psoriasis while pregnant. thanks, kids.

  Yes, but I don't trust product labeling. The current "sugar free", "No sugar" labeling is often dangerously misleading. I ALWAYS read the nutrition label and ingredients before purchase to determine an accurate Total Carb count (Net carbs are useless and a marketing ploy in my opinion). Many times "Sugar Free" products have just as many carbs as the 'regular' product.

  No and likely not willing. 1 out of 2 of my immediate living family members is a minor so would need parent's permission.

  I have never turned off the algorithm on Tandem or on my Medtronic pump before that. I have not understood the need to turn off the automation.

  Sometimes I bruise from pump sites but always have pink swollen painful infusion sites. It is internal not adhesive caused. I use Tru-steel and change everyday due to this issue. 52 years with 30+ of pumping so I have many site issues. No one has ever narrowed it down to any specific reason other than long term pump use. No issues with CGM

  Was necessary to be on steroid for a few days. Usually have to adjust for it. This time however with the Medtronic SmartGuard handled it! Worked like a dream!

  If my blood glucose is out of range for more than 2 hours, I turn off the algorithm until I can bring it back around.

  Sometimes the Dexcom is so far off, the pump stops delivering because it thinks my blood sugar is low, but in reality it is not. I need to stop the Control IQ in order to receive insulin.

  It really depends. For ketchup, I buy "no sugar added". I always look at the ingredients listen. If there's a long list of hard to pronounce ingredients, I don't buy. If there's corn syrup or HFCS, I don't buy. If sugar is anywhere in the first 3-5 ingredients, I don't buy. I prefer to make my own dressings and sauces and almost always cut what the recipe calls for in sweeteners.

  While I answered "yes" the truth is that I read the ingredient information to make sure a product does not contain sugar, regardless of what the front of the packing proclaims.

  Nowadays I seldom buy any food with sugar added. Ditto for artificial sweeteners. I try to avoid foods with added chemicals, try to just stick with mustard, curry powder, garlic granules, vinegar, black pepper, salt, turmeric powder, chili pepper. I found a blue chess dressing w/ very low or no carbs.

  I use G Hughes brand of sugar free BBQ sauce and other sugar free dressings and condiments from G Hughes. They are tasty and very low in carbs. I used to use Jack Daniels BBQ sauce before I discovered G Hughes and I do notice that it doesn't raise my BG as much.

  I can’t say never because I have some but they sit in the fridge because they never measure up. I would rather go without. Most of my condiments don’t require sugar, like mustard, oil and vinegar, chili oil, salsa, lemon juice, fermented lemon.
