  I often call customer service regarding my T1D supply orders, also Dexcom regarding sensor failures. Unfortunately, they have many questions that have to be answered. There seems to be little regard for my time, as I am very busy, and don't have time to waste on the telephone. I said 15 - 20 minutes. But, it is often more time, and seldom less time. But, always more time than I can afford to give.

  I was on hold with Dexcom for over a half hour, after being transferred by Tandem tech. The Tandem tech supervisor had already spoken with Dexcom , explaining the reason for the call was incorrect information provided by Tandem tech regarding a G6 sensor . When I finally spoke with Dexcom it was a very long cross-examination with repeated accusations of user error. Dexcom had already been provided with the reason for the sensor replacement, the lot number, etc, for the sensor and my contact information, yet they insisted that I answer their numerous questions and accusations. It was a very lengthy, unpleasant experience that makes me question my continued use of their devices.

  I always prebolus unless I am on the low side with sugar level. If I am below 90, I usually wait until a few minutes (5-15 minutes) after starting to eat.

  I almost always pre-bolus. Between 15-45 minutes before eating with Humalog. I find in the morning I need to pre-bolus 45 minutes before I eat to avoid major spikes. As I've gotten older I find in the morning my insulin is poorly absorbed unless I move around a bit.

  I almost always get my insulin in before I eat but I have difficulty getting my insulin in 20-30 minutes before eating. That would be a lot more helpful in keeping my spikes from meals down.

  If you wear a retainer or mouthguard at night, do you take it out to treat a nighttime low?
  Though I wear neither, I answered yes because I wear a BiPap mask and do take it off to treat lows!
