  I have the new iLet Beta Bionics, bionic pancreas pump. You can only adjust your weight on this one you cannot adjust your ratios, etc.

  After years of meal blousing, my brain goes directly to insulin units without pausing to estimate carbs. I know how much insulin I need based on the entire meal composition, time of day, activity level, etc. from decades of trial and error and CGM feedback. Since Control IQ handles meal boluses differently than correction boluses, I do enter "fake" carbs so my pump delivers the right amount of mealtime insulin. I use a carb ratio of 10 to make the arithmetic easy, even though my actual carb ratio is probably closer to 12. For example, if I know I need 2.5 units to cover the milk in my morning coffee, I enter 25 g of carbs. This method keeps me ~ 95% in range most of the time.

  I trialed Omnipod a long time ago when they were new. At the time they could were not capable of delivering small enough amounts of insulin for my sensitivity. It would be nice not having tubing to catch on everything and having to change your site regularly for prevention of scar tissue.

  I live at 7,000 feet and traveling to sea level or anywhere else, all is the same as far as insulin dosages and food.

  Have you ever used a smart insulin pen (a reusable insulin injector that reminds, records, and tracks doses)?
  I was prescribed one a year ago, to cut down on the weight/bulk and landfill of multiple pens (my pump back-ups) - in 20+ years of pumping, I've used a pen less than 10 times! But getting a prescription for the cartridges seems to be impossible - I had asked for a pen with cartridges that could be filled from the vial (thus meaning no insulin would be wasted .... but no - pump backup isn't really uderstood by either pen manufacturers or GPs it seems.

  I always wipe the area with Flonase (and apply a piece of smith & nephew opsite flexifix) before inserting the omnipod 5. Has helped tremendously with allergic reaction to the adhesive.

  No, absolutely not! That would make it more likely the device would fall off. I only swab with alcohol a couple of minutes ahead of time for the CGM.

  I said no, but I always use IV PREP WIPES for my infusion sites.

I do use Skin Prep (Smith and Nephew) under infusion sites to minimize irritation from the adhesive but not creams or ointments.

  I never use creams or ointments but I do use IV Prep before placing an infusion set and alcohol before placing my CGM sensor.

  I assume the question refers to moisturizing creams and not tacky substances to help with adhesion, and I answered never. I would consider some sort of after-care cream for the site, although I don’t think I have a big scarring problem.
