  I marked Other, as I very occasionally experience a compression low. I wear my G7 towards the middle of my abdomen (I’m a side sleeper) Works well for me

  What is your Time in Range (TIR) goal?
  I was diagnosed with T1 at age 71, LADA for 5 years before that. I adopted a low carb diet then, and it has helped me still now that I am living with T1D. I use MDI’s and a Smart Pen for my short acting. In the last 2 and 1/2 years I have been In Range nearly 95% of the time. While my providers have encouraged me to explore adding more carbs to my diet, I find that spikes and wide swings in range have an effect on my energy level and concentration. Thinking I’ll stay with what works for me!

  When you choose where you put your CGM and/or insulin pump do you care if it’s visible or not?
  I initially started wearing the Dexcom G7 on my arm and was aware of the overpatch looking a bit tattered as it neared the end of the session. Moved it to my stomach; now I can only care about comfort and avoiding a spot to prevent compression lows at night.

  Sometimes it can be hard to hear important CGM alerts, especially overnight. Do you use a secondary app or device to help you hear them better?
  I luckily rarely get overnight lows; my phone alert has always awakened me, but my smartwatch will buzz on my wrist a couple of minutes later. I have found the smartwatch alert to sometimes be the extra motivation I may need to attend to the low

  I was diagnosed with late life T1 last year. I am managing very well with MDI’s and pens, but still amazed at the amount of thinking and endless calculations and decision points…

  My Diabetes Care Specialist is also a Nutritionist. I have found her advice and support vital to mastering T1 since my diagnosis 2 years ago

  How often do you clean your skin with an alcohol wipe before giving yourself an injection or inserting a new pump site or sensor?
  I feel that this should be 2 separate questions. I occasionally use a wipe before injections. I ALWAYS use alcohol wipes before inserting a new sensor

  When counting your carbs before dosing insulin, do you factor the amount of protein into your carb calculation at all? If so, share how in the comments!
  I answered Other because I tend to estimate number of carbs and I am generally aware of protein and fat as well, but no real formula for calculating insulin dose.

  Were you misdiagnosed with another condition before you were diagnosed with T1D?
  I was initially diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes but another endocrinologist checked my GAD Antibodies, dx’d LADA, no meds and I monitored am blood sugars until diet and exercise no longer worked to keep me in range.
