| About Me | Diagnosed with T1D in late November 1962. Was active in dance, acting, and musical theater training and performance during youth, teen, and young adult years. Studied acting and dance at NYU in early college years, then switched to nursing and earned LPN, RN, BSN, MSN degrees with clinical focus in holistic nursing care for psychiatric/mental health in community based clinics, inpatient, and home care settings. Served as a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDE/CDCES) from 2008 to 2021. Officially retired from nursing in June 2022. Volunteer PODS leader in Upstate NY with Diabetes Sisters from 2009 to 2018. As a retiree, I garden and cook from scratch, preserve fresh garden produce as food, practice art making through paint and collage, raise and foster homeless cats, meditate daily for peace and planetary healing sending good will and good wishes to and for all beings large and small, known and unknown. |
