  43 years ago, I did urine and tablet in a test tube to test my sugar levels. Also used beef/pork based insulin. Technology has improved my care every step since for which I am grateful every day!!

  My father developed Type 1 in 1967. My previously stay at home mother, got her LVN so she could earn a living once widowed. They were sure Daddy would soon die! I was in high school at the time and helped her study for tests. This inspired me to get my BS in Nursing in 1973. Daddy lived with T1 20 more years!

I was in high school at the time and helped her study for tests. This inspired me to get my BS in Nursing in 1973. Daddy lived with T1 20 more years!
