Background
Changes in communication strategies can support more effective clinical experiences. In this session, T1DX-QI will share simulated diabetes visit experiences, communicating and interacting with care teams through skits designed and led by PWDs. They will highlight opportunities to understand mutual goals and priorities for clinical visits and how verbal and non-verbal cues can be used to advantage or detriment. Each skit will have an interactive debrief with attendees for feedback and guided reflection. Presenters will outline measurable objectives of desired behaviors and outcomes and will respect the boundaries, privacy, and diversity of perspectives for both learners and skit members.
