Question of the day
How often do you clean your skin with alcohol wipes before giving yourself an injection or inserting a new insulin pump site?
If you (or your loved one) were diagnosed with T1D as a child, at what age were you diagnosed?
If you use a CGM, do you ever experience “compression lows”? These are inaccurate CGM readings that occur when there is pressure placed on the CGM transmitter and sensor. They typically look like a sudden and drastic drop on a CGM graph, and often occur when a person is lying on their sensor.
Do you currently have a kit containing the T1D supplies you would need in case of a natural disaster or emergency?
Do you currently use any of the following insulin pumps?
Do you feel like the financial costs associated with T1D require you to make sacrifices in other areas of your life?
If you are a caregiver to a child with T1D, how old is your child?
If your CGM sensor falls off before your session is supposed to end, do you call their customer service for a replacement sensor?
Talking about issues of discrimination because of a person's race or ethnicity can be difficult and experiences based on one's race and ethnicity are very personal. If you identify as a person of color, have you ever felt discriminated against in your T1D care because of your race or ethnicity?
If you have gone through menopause (or you expect to in your lifetime), what is one question you have about menopause and T1D? If you have already experienced menopause, what is one thing you wish you had known about menopause and T1D – or an unanswered question you still have? Please write your question in the comments!
For people who use an automated insulin delivery system (e.g., Tandem Control-IQ, Medtronic SmartGuard Auto Mode, Omnipod 5 SmartAdjust, etc.), when you first started using the system, did you notice changes in your blood glucose patterns while adapting to the new system?
Have you ever used any therapies in addition to insulin delivered under the skin? For example, inhaled insulin, type 2 diabetes drugs, etc. Tell us about your experience in the comments!
For insulin pump users: If you were to spend 4 hours away from home but still in your local area (e.g., an afternoon of running errands around town, or going out for dinner and a movie), would you bring a backup insulin delivery method, such as supplies for a pump site change, an insulin pen, syringes, etc.?
If you use an insulin pump or CGM, how do you get rid of the adhesive residue left behind on your skin after removing your CGM or pump site? Select all that apply, and share your tips in the comments!
