The T1DX-QI operates through a series of leadership groups and committees. Each plays a role in guiding improvement initiatives, overseeing data use, shaping research priorities, and ensuring the collaborative reflects the experiences of people living with diabetes.

Clinical Leadership

The Clinical Leadership group includes the principal investigators from participating clinical centers. They provide guidance on collaborative improvement initiatives, including goals, interventions, and strategies to improve diabetes care and outcomes. They also advise on the strategic direction of the collaborative and future partnerships.

Governance

Data Governance

The Data Governance Committee reviews and oversees projects that use collaborative electronic health record data. The group evaluates industry- and academically sponsored proposals, monitors ongoing projects, and helps identify opportunities for new research partnerships.

The Data Science Committee is made up of multidisciplinary experts from participating clinical centers. They guide the development of data standards, metrics, and specifications used across the collaborative to support benchmarking and improvement efforts.

Publications

The Publications Committee reviews and evaluates publication proposals and supports the development of collaborative research. Members help guide statistical approaches, identify research priorities, and contribute to articles and abstracts that share insights from the collaborative.

People With Diabetes Advisory

The People With Diabetes Advisory group brings the lived experience of diabetes into collaborative decision-making. Members share perspectives that help prioritize improvement initiatives and strengthen person-centered and family-centered approaches to care.

QI Champions

HEAL Program (Health Equity Advancement Lab)

The Health Equity Advancement Lab (HEAL) brings together clinical and research leaders focused on advancing equity in diabetes care. The program develops strategies and best practices to improve equitable access to care and outcomes across the diabetes community.
