Position: Data Analyst
Classification: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Location: Boston, MA

T1D Exchange is growing, and we have created an additional opportunity for a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. The Data Analyst’s primary role is to provide statistical and analytical expertise to support and advance the mission of the organization to improve outcomes for people living with type 1 diabetes.

The Data Analyst will work closely with the Research, Quality Improvement, and Biobank Teams, sponsors and internal stakeholders to design and implement statistical analyses for observational and interventional research, as well as to help establish best practices for data management and data analysis strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop statistical analysis plans for research studies and analyze data using industry-standard statistical tools
  • Review research data to summarize population demographics, identify trends within and across studies and extrapolate other statistical inferences
  • Draft, edit, and present data analysis reports:
    • Provide exemplary tabular and graphic summaries of analyses for presentations at scientific meetings and in manuscript-ready formats for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Establish best practices for data management and review published works to produce world-class research methods and scientific reporting
  • Maintain working knowledge of recent best practices of statistical techniques and federal and state regulations
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree or higher in statistics, bioinformatics, biology, psychology, sociology or social sciences
  • Five years of work experience in a similar role; less experience will be considered in conjunction with higher degree
  • Knowledge and research in diabetes
  • Highly skilled advanced statistics programs such as R for data manipulation and statistical analysis
  • Experienced in SPC* (Statistical Process Control) methods and familiarity with Minitab or QI Macros preferred
  • Background in Six Sigma or Lean is highly desirable
  • Experience in dealing with extraction and manipulation of relational databases (SQL)
  • Experience in advanced statistical techniques such as predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis survey design and analysis and data mining
  • Experience of analyzing large data sets to develop custom models and algorithms to drive solutions.
  • Experience building large data sets from multiple sources to build algorithms for predicting future data characteristics.
  • Experience working with survey design, data collection and dissemination, and creating research study design (e.g. statistical analysis plans)
  • Proficient in summarizing results and conclusions for scientific presentations/manuscripts with the ability to translate and present complex analyses into key points for presentation for a variety of audiences

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience handling confidential information and familiarity with privacy/HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process and documentation
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to elicit useful information and ask relevant follow-up questions

Position: Research Scientist, Patient Centered Research

We have developed a new research and development model that accelerates progress, connects key stakeholders, and links patient outcomes to research data in logical ways; a new model that strives to bring drugs and devices to market more efficiently, and facilitates interactions between patients, clinicians, researchers, and industry.

Patient-centered research (PCR) plays a critical role in the evolving healthcare space by including patient voice in the research and development process, creation of new products and integrated care programs that focus on health outcomes and patient/clinician satisfaction. The T1D Exchange Patient Centered Research Initiative (PCRI) aims to leverage our more than 35,000 patient/caregiver participants to drive a new era of engagement and inform and influence diabetes research and development organizations, companies, regulators and payers.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Research Scientist of to lead research studies of the T1D Exchange Patient Centered Initiative and be a subject matter expert. Our PCRI will leverage existing T1D Exchange resources and support the development of synergistic strategic initiatives: Quality Improvement, Collaborative Science and Sponsored Research.

Responsibilities Include:

Patient Centered Research: Develop and maintain PCRI priorities for market research studies, patient insight, and research projects.

  • Direct and coordinate required content and staff to support successful research objectives from hypothesis generation to manuscript submission
  • Lead a team of Research Assistants and Biostatisticians to support research objectives aligned with mission
  • Cultivate, support, and enhance collaborative relationships with internal and external researchers, sponsors and research institutions
  • Seek new and innovative approaches to conduct patient centered research by leveraging patient and caregiver cohort

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Health Science, Public Health, or related field with 5+ years of experience conducting research
  • Experience and knowledge in type 1 diabetes required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of patient centered research; protocol development, epidemiology and biostatistics
  • Experience working with clients (e.g., pharmaceutical companies, other researchers, etc.)
  • Strong writing capabilities, organizational skills, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem solving, and communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, donors, researchers, physicians, corporate leaders, civic and community leaders and other professionals
  • Knowledge of grant and contract application and award processes, regulations and regulatory process required to conduct human subject research
  • Publications in the area of patient centered research

Position: Contracts and Grants Manager
Classification: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Location: Boston, MA

T1D Exchange is an innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating therapies and solutions for type 1 diabetes. T1D Exchange is launching a new function as we grow into a research organization. As our foundation, corporate and other income streams increase the importance of having organized management of our sponsored research contracts and foundation grants is paramount.

The Grants and Contracts Manager works as part of the Advancement team, reporting to the Associate Director, Development and Membership at T1D Exchange and assists in facilitating pre and post-award programmatic and financial activities associated with grants and contracts applied for and awarded to T1D Exchange.

This position will work with on grants management for institutional foundations as well as working on contracts with companies and other organizations that are sponsoring or paying for market based research.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate contract start-up activities to include: Statements of Work, Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, Vendor, Independent and Sub Contractor Agreements
  • Review all grant and contract requests, gather necessary documentation to process request for Grants and Contracts Manager review and disposition
  • Track and monitor on monthly basis all agreements to include Vendor, Independent and Subcontracts
  • Track and monitor Interim and Annual Progress Reports
  • Maintain current contact list of all personnel associated with T1D’s grants programs
  • Enter and maintain information into T1Ds Salesforce database related to grant activities, creating tracking systems, and for longer term explore a grant and contracts management system opportunity
  • Maintain all correspondence related to pre and post-award grant activities within the organizations grants management files
  • Working with our research and program teams and finance to produce milestone oriented reports to deliver to grantors and sponsors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 years of experience in grant and/or contract management preferred
  • Non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • Experience with Industry and Institutional Foundations preferred
  • Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM preferred
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner

Position: Development Coordinator

We are rapidly expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a Development Coordinator who will oversee the coordination of T1D Exchange fundraising events, as well as various organizational and donor events throughout the year.

Working with the Director of Advancement, this position will be responsible for organizing, preparing and coordinating events, including planning, budgeting, agenda development, implementation and event follow up. The Development Coordinator will also prepare and update event tracking reports and timelines. Additional duties as it relates to special events include managing event volunteers, attending planning meetings, contacting vendors for logistical support and needs.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Works with Director of Development on donor stewardship, including correspondence. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for gift entry, generating thank you letters/cards, pulling mailing lists, generating donor reports, etc. Working on fundraising reporting presentations to leadership and board.
  • Assists in overseeing annual fundraising programs, including online and mail appeals.
  • Adheres to development and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintains customer/donor confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, non-profit management, or related field such as communications, public relations or marketing.
  • Minimum of one year event planning/coordinating or related experience.
  • Minimum of one year of non-profit development or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, etc.
  • Proficiency with donor software program/management.
  • Understanding of Fundraising CRM a plus.

We are rapidly expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator who will oversee the coordination of T1D Exchange fundraising events, as well as various organizational and donor events throughout the year.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for execution of a multi-faceted communications plan aimed at raising awareness about the T1D Exchange. Responsibilities will include management of conference logistics, working with internal and external resources to build program area collateral (including digital and print materials), planning and executing onsite meetings, and digital marketing campaigns. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating and maintaining a social media presence.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Works in conjunction with program area teams to develop marketing communications strategy and brand awareness plans and goals; track progress and make adjustments for changes in market conditions and competitive landscape; and introduce new offerings to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Plan, organize and manage communication campaigns for brand awareness including, but not limited to direct mail, email, post-event communication, newsletters,
  • publication announcements.
  • Manage execution of internal and external events aimed at engaging and cultivating audiences.
