T1D EXCHANGE LEADERSHIP
Dara P. Schuster, M.D.
Dr. Schuster joined T1D Exchange as chief executive officer in 2018. She is an endocrinologist by training with over three decades of experience in the treatment, care, and research of type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Schuster comes to T1D Exchange from Eli Lilly and Company, where she launched the company’s diabetes real-world evidence partnership development program. She has held several leadership roles with Lilly, most recently as Senior Medical Director of Diabetes Medical Affairs for the United States and Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining Lilly, Dr. Schuster was a practicing physician and Professor of Adult & Pediatric Endocrinology for The Ohio State University Health System. Named to America’s Top Pediatricians, America’s Best Doctors, and Best Practices in Diabetes Management, Dr. Schuster held multiple clinical director roles at Ohio State while treating patients, teaching medical students, and advancing important diabetes research, including retrospective, real-world data analysis.
Mr. Plmanabhan is the chief technology officer (CTO) at T1D Exchange, where he is responsible for managing all engineering and IT systems. He is currently focused on building out the research and analytics platform for T1D Exchange.
Prior to joining the organization, Mr. Plmanabhan served as acting CTO at Red e App, where he advised the chief executive officer and management team on all product- and technology-related matters, and served as chief data scientist and VP of Engineering at Cure Forward, a platform that connects cancer patients with genomic medicine.
Mr. Plmanabhan is a veteran technology executive and entrepreneur with deep expertise in data science, machine learning, and engineering management. He is a well-recognized, MIT-trained data scientist with extensive experience in the healthcare, energy, and finance industries.
Ms. Parkes is the chief advancement officer at T1D Exchange. She is responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall advancement efforts, including building partnerships, philanthropy, grants, and marketing and communications. Parkes joined T1D Exchange in 2017 and works closely with the executive team, program teams, and board of directors to develop advancement plans and resources to support its continued ascent.
Prior to joining T1D Exchange, she served as vice president for Grenzebach Glier and Associates, an international philanthropic management consulting firm. There, she worked with healthcare and academic institutions in the United States and Europe on strategic positioning, income and revenue generation strategy and tactics, organizational structure, volunteer engagement, and operational planning.
