Quality Improvement Coordinator

Position: Quality Improvement Coordinator
Classification: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Location: Boston, MA

T1D Exchange is an innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating therapies and improving care for people with type 1 diabetes. We are rapidly expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Improvement professional.

The Quality Improvement Coordinator works with T1D Exchange clinic sites within the Collaborative Improvement Network to drive quality improvement projects that test and implement interventions to define a change package for type 1 diabetes. The position requires strong organizational, excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, solid project management and organizational ability, as well as a keen analytic skill set. The Coordinator should have the desire and ability to learn and apply concepts that are new to them to develop competencies to facilitate clinical quality improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
• Assist teams in identifying barriers to implementing improvement plans, developing strategy to overcome these barriers, and driving improvement projects to completion.
• Provide staff support for meetings, such as IT and Faculty Leaders and Data Governance Committee, by coordinating agendas, project timelines, and producing and distributing minutes as needed. Give support to other committees as requested.
• Work with faculty leaders and selected teams to develop, refine, and spread the clinical interventions for type 1 diabetes.
• Establish strong working relationships with site coordinators and teams to help create a measurement system and address data collection and measurement issues, supporting the use of platforms such as Life QI and the Portal.
• Manage logistics and creates materials for monthly collaborative calls and semi-annual in-person learning sessions.
• Assist Director of Quality Improvement and faculty leaders in assessing effectiveness of each intervention, as well as the progress of each site and overall collaborative.
• Develop quality improvement content for the T1D Exchange knowledge- sharing commons and supports documentation through QI coaching calls.
• Provide support and facilitate the Patient/Faculty Advisory Committee.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in related field preferred (MBA, MHA, or MPH) with a minimum of 2-3 years of healthcare project management experience in leading or primary resource for Quality/Process Improvement Projects.
• 1 year experience with quality improvement methodologies and tools, including the IHI Model for Improvement.
• Experience with a quality improvement collaborative a plus.
• Superior organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with, persuade, and negotiate with individuals at all levels of teams and institutions
• Excellent project management, facilitation, and data analytics skills.
• Ability to travel within United States to clinic and/or meeting sites on occasion
• Ability to lead and work within a team, as well as to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Capability to support a wide range of management level needs
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate results
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment serving diverse populations
• Must be PC and MS Office proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager

Position: Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager

T1D Exchange is an innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating therapies and improving care for people with type 1 diabetes. We are rapidly expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Improvement professional.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Commercial Partnerships and Advancement and working in close coordination with partners across T1D Exchange, the Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager is responsible for building relationships with and securing partnership agreements in support of the organization’s highest priorities. The professional will identify and engage new, highly philanthropic corporations, industry partners working in the type 1 diabetes community. He/she/they will pursue growth of this portfolio by partnering with T1D Exchange’s team members and activating T1D Exchange’s network of committed partners to engage individuals in the significance of the organization’s strategies, research and industry initiatives. This seasoned professional will at the same time have important responsibilities for managing commercial and philanthropic relationships.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
• Develops cultivation and solicitation strategies for a portfolio of prospects and donors. Builds and manages a network of relationships with prospective commercial partners and donors involving the organization’s leadership. Facilitates and coordinates all communication with these prospects. Promotes positive relations with these prospects and partners.
• Evaluates various project and sponsorship opportunities and giving vehicles and recommends the most suitable for a particular commercial partner.
• Interacts with internal contacts such as researchers, analysts, and other programmatic colleagues and other staff to consult on the Organization’s needs, to formulate strategies to promote prospect engagement.
• Work with marketing and communication colleagues to develop the strategy for and creation of written communications related to advancing the organization’s interests and opportunities.
• Typically participates (often in concert with others) in gift solicitations to fund the organization’s programs to enhance the commercial partnerships program.
• May travel (possibly extensively) for fundraising and partnership activity. May involve international travel depending upon prospect assignments.
• Performs additional commercial partnership related activities/efforts at the request of the Managing Director of Commercial Partnerships and Advancement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, fundraising or a related field, preferably in healthcare or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with sensitive information and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Working knowledge of type 1 diabetes, the industry and evolving spaces in global innovation and accelerator programs.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and prospective clients.
• Understanding of commercial partnerships and business development strategies
• Working knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT)
• Professional credibility, intellectual depth, maturity, and collaborative skills to lead others by influence.
• Creative and entrepreneurial outlook with a strong intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to adapt and collaborate in a complex environment.
• Ability to present complex funding opportunities to prospective industry partners and or donors in person and in writing.
• Ability to lead and work within a team, as well as to work independently.
